Types of presses

Hand press, hydraulic hand press or battery powered press are all different types of  crimping tools for crimping  cable terminals and connectors. The crimping process  is fast, safe and efficient. However it is important to choose the right cable terminal, the dedicated crimping tool and to perform properly  the process of crimping. The manufacturer suggests which tool should be used with the given cable terminal and connector.

Different types of crimping tools:

  1. Hand presses are the tools used most often for installation works of low-intensity. We can distinguish presses with exchangeable  crimping dies and such with non-exchangeable die. Among presses with exchangeable dies we can distinguish for example  PR 33 or   Presses with non-exchangeable die are for example  T 10, T 10-16V, A 11-6. An additional feature of some products is a ratchet mechanism,
  2. Hydraulic presses – are designed for medium intensive installation work, they are more efficient than standard hand presses. They can be used to crimp cable terminal on wires with the wider cross-section. An example of such a tool is HR 300. With the help of this tool you can crimp cable terminals and connectors on wires with the cross-section from 10 to up to 300 mm2, you can also perform round forming of Al sector conductors, or flat forming of Al sector conductors. It is also possible to punch holes in steel band. Big force , two working circuits and the rotatable head makes it easy and comfortable to work with this tool.
  3. Battery powered presses – are crimping tools worth mentioning, an example of such tools are press EPZC and EPZ 300. EPZC is designed for crimping of ring terminals with and without insulation, cable end-sleeves with or without insulation, tubular terminals Cu and tubular terminals Al. With the help of this tool it is also possible to perform round forming of Al sector conductors. This tool has some vital advantages: an  automatic off switch ending operation cycle after a proper crimping is complete. The right process is indicated by green LED light , not accurate crimping cycle is  indicated by red LED light and it must be repeated. This equipment has an electronic record of operation cycle – data can be  transfer via USB. Rotatable head is also very helpful in installation work. An efficient lithium-ion battery is also very vital.
