ERKO created a reliable system of cable terminals and connectors as well as the tools for crimping them. The guarantee of the highest quality is what most often convinces our customers. For the firm crimping of the cable terminals and so that it fulfills the role throughout the period of use a properly selected tool and die should be used and the process of crimping should be performed properly.
A rich assortment of the crimping tools
The choice we have is very large from the simplest manual presses for connectors and for the cable terminals with the small cross-section to the hydraulic heads that crimp on a very large wire cross-section, we can choose from tools with inbuilt die or exchangeable dies. It all depends on our needs.
An example of the simplest manual press with exchangeable dies is PR 33 for the wire with the cross-section from 0,5 to 35 mm2. It can be used for crimping many different types of cable terminals both with insulation and without insulation for example KOA, KWA, KOE, KNV, TA, TE. It has two-component insulated grip that makes the tool comfortable in hand. It is also equipped with ratcheting mechanism, which allows to crimp with little force or the eccentric to regulate the crimping force used . It can be purchased with a set of dies or with one die only.
A manual press with the in-built crimping die is for example T 50 for wire cross-section up to 50 mm2. It is used for crimping cable end-sleeves with and without insulation. Here we also have a ratchet mechanism that facilitates crimping and eccentricity to regulate the force of crimping.
In the assortment we can also find two battery powered hydraulic presses EPZC 300 and EPZ 300. EPZC 300 is made for crimping of: ring terminals with and without insulation 10 – 120 mm2, cable end-sleeves with and without insulation 25-185 mm2, Cu tubular terminals 6 – 300 mm2, Al tubular terminals 16-240 mm2 and for round forming Al sector conductors 16 – 240 mm2. It is equipped with automatic off switch ending operation cycle, LED indicator of the proper crimping, electronic record of operation cycle , efficient lithium-ion battery, automatic pressure control and flip top head rotatable by 330°.
There are common hydraulic presses that you can use for crimping cable terminals on wires with the greater cross- section. Hydraulic hand press HR 100-U can be used for crimping of different cable terminals and connectors on wires with the cross-section of up to 120 mm2. The force of the tool is 47 kN. And for crimping of a really thick cables you should use the hydraulic crimping head GU 625.It can crimp cable terminals and connectors on wires with the conductor cross-section from 300 to 625 mm2. It works with electric hydraulic units produces by ERKO. The force of the tool in this case is 190kN.
