Cable connectors and cable terminals with shear off screws are an alternative to the fairly common crimping. Unquestionable advantage of this technology is greater versatility as well as easiness and speed of installation. One cable terminal or connector can be used on wires with different structures and with different cross-sections.
Shear off screw connector SZS
SZS connector is made of aluminum for the voltage up to 36 kV. The manufacturer makes them tinned. It is made in four sizes corresponding to the aluminum and copper wires both single-strand and multi-strand. The tool used for installation of this connector is Allen key 6, and in case of the biggest size of the connector – Allen key 8. The largest connector of this type SZS 120300 is designed for a single-strand aluminum wire with the cross-section from 120 mm2 to 240 mm2 and a multi-strand round copper wire with the cross-section from 120 mm2 to 300 mm2.
Shear off screw terminal SKS
SKS terminal is also made of aluminum and designed for the voltage up to 36 kV. It is normally made in 7 sizes. The two connectors of the biggest size are mounted with Allen key 8, while the other sizes need – Allen key 6. The sizes designed for the largest cross-sections require more than one shear off screw.
Shear off screw connector SZN
The connector SZN is suitable for the voltage to 1kV; it is made of aluminum and it is normally tinned. The non-tinned version can be ordered directly from the manufacturer. It is made in 6 sizes for the wire cross-section from 10 mm2 to 240 mm2. The shear off screws are broken with the ring spanner 10 or Allen keys 6, 8.
Shear off screw connector SKN
The SKN connector is designed for aluminum and copper wires and it is for the voltage to 6 kV. It is made in 13 sizes for the wire cross-section from 10 mm2 to 240 mm2.
