Shear off screw cable connectors are an alternative to the technology of crimping The basis of the shear off screw connectors are shear off screws, which makes this technology more universal and the connecting is faster. The big advantage is also the possibility to use the same connector for different types of wires and for wide range of cross-sections.
SZS shear off screw connectors
They are designed for the voltage of up to 36 kV. They are made of aluminum, and they are normally tinned. They can be used both for aluminum and copper wires. They are available in three sizes:
– SZS 1695 for Al wire with the cross-section: rm = 16-70 mm2, re = 16-95 mm2, sm = 25-70 mm2, se =16-95 mm2 and rmv = 16-95 mm2, and Cu wires with the cross-section: rm = 16-70 mm2, sm = 25-70 mm2 and rmv=16-95 mm2,
– SZS 50150 for Al wire with the cross-section: rm = 50-120 mm2, re = 50-150 mm2, sm = 50-120 mm2, se = 50-150 mm2 and rmv = 50-150 mm2, and Cu wire with the cross-section: rm = 16-70 mm2, sm = 25-70 mm2 and rmv=16-95 mm2,
– SZS 95240 for Al wire with the cross-section: rm = 95-185 mm2, re = 95-240 mm2, sm = 95-185 mm2, se = 95-240 mm2 and rmv = 95-240 mm2, and Cu wires with the cross-section: rm = 95-185 mm2, sm = 95-185 mm2 and rmv = 95-240 mm2,
– SZS 120300 for Al wire with the cross-section: rm = 120-300 mm2, re = 120-300 mm2, sm = 120-240 mm2, se = 120-300 mm2 and rmv = 120-300 mm2, and Cu wire with the cross-section: rm = 120-300 mm2, sm = 120-240 mm2 and rmv= 120-300 mm2.
SZN shear off screw connectors
SZN shear off screw connector is used with the voltage up to 1 kV. It is made of non-tinned aluminum . It is available in 6 sizes that correspond to the round multi-strand wire cross-section: rm from 16-35 to 240 mm2. It is used for both aluminum and copper wires.
