To the group of medium voltage terminals and connectors (do 36 kV) belong also cable connectors Al, Al-Cu, that are listed below:
– ALG-F (thick walled connector, for Al. wires with the cross-section of 25 ÷ 240 mm2),
– ALD-F (for single-strand and multi-strand wires to 36 kV, with the cross-section of 25 ÷ 625 mm2),
– ALS-F ( it has the similar size of the tubular part as in case of cable connector ALS),
– ALR-F ( it’s a reducing connector, dimensions are similar to ALR connectors, with the cross-section of 25 ÷ 625 mm2),
– ACL-F.
Among cable connectors Al-Cu we can distinguish bi-metallic connector ACL, which can be produced from either aluminum or copper. The tubular part of the connector is made according to DIN 46267. Its thermal resistance is very high and it can be up to 300°C. This cable connector is made according to the same standard. The cable connector ACL is designed for single-strand and multi-strand wires.
An example of such a connector is also the cable connector with a pin ACB that is used to connect aluminum wires and copper elements. The use of ERKO cable connectors eliminates the problem of formation of cells at the interface of aluminum and copper
