Cable connectors used in SHARK® technology are designed for connecting winding enameled wires in engines and oil transformers, copper and aluminum wires, round and rectangular. The manufacturer took care of the quality and durability of the connections. The connection is based on the fact that the connector’s blade penetrates the insulation and is inserted into the wire core.
The advantages of SHARK® connectors
In the crimping process the quality of crimping is very important. Connections made with Shark connectors meet the requirements of PN-EN 61238-1 U (2004) standard. Another important issue is the durability of the connection, in this case the connections made with Shark connectors have been in use in transformers for over 10 years without any breakdowns. Thanks to this technology the process of removing enamel insulation from the wires has been eliminated. When connecting wires there is no need to secure the transformer against generated impurities. This technology is environmentally friendly, shark connector fast and reliably replaces harmful to the environment soldering and enamel insulation burning processes.
Very important advantages include also easy operation and economical technology , which leads to increased efficiency. It is also worth mentioning that the technology is very universal. With one Shark connector one can make connection using wires of different cross-section, shape and material.
Crimping tools for connectors in SHARK® technology
Battery powered hydraulic press EGRT is made for crimping cable connectors RT 1 and RT 2 on winding enameled and non-enameled wires. The tool is powered by efficient Li-Ion battery. The work with this tool is very comfortable and easy thanks to the use of automatic retraction when maximum pressure is achieved and automatic off switch ending operation cycle. The proper cycle is indicated by LED light. A proper crimping is indicated by green LED, if it wasn’t accurate it is indicated by the red light and the crimping cycle must be repeated. An electronic record of operation cycle seems to be an interesting solution.
RM 1 and RM 2 connectors can be crimped with hydraulic head GRM 1, which is equipped with SRM dies. It works with a proper hydraulic unit thanks to the quick coupler type ZT.
R 1, R 1S, R 2, R 01 connectors can be crimped on winding enameled and non-enameled wires with hydraulic head GR 1. This head is equipped with SR dies. It works with hydraulic units produced by ERKO thanks to the quick coupler type PT.
RD 1, RD 2, RDO 1 connectors can be crimped with hydraulic head GRD 1. In this case we need to use the SRD dies. The quick coupler type PT allows for connection with hydraulic units.
Electric hydraulic unit , that is used in this technology is AH 300R with the power of 1,1 kW. The efficiency of this unit is 0,66÷1,33 l/min. Thanks to different endings of quick coupler it works with hydraulic heads: GR 1, GRM 1, GRT 1, GRD 1.
