The crimping dies for crimping tools are designed for crimping connectors and during electrical and installing work. Selection of a suitable crimping die is dictated by parameters of the connector being crimped, as well as the form and shape we intend to achieve. The crimping dies used for crimping terminals and connectors can be divided according the form of crimping: oval, trapezoidal, square, or hexagon, or wrapped up. When choosing a suitable crimping die the material of which the wire is made must be taken into account as well as its cross-section. Crimping dies produced by ERKO are made of top quality materials, which ensures their durability and effectiveness.
The crimping dies vary and are intended for specific crimping tools. Manual crimping tool PR 33, is an universal tool and frequently chosen by the Customers. Dedicated to it the die set, intended for different kinds of terminals and connectors: with or without isolation, ring, cable-end sleeves and receptacles for wire cross-sections in the range of from 0.5 to 35 mm2.
Commonly used crimping dies are intended – for the manual crimping tools of PR 50 and PR 50 D type. US1 crimping dies are used for terminals and connectors of copper, made out of DIN norm. Each of them has struck trait, which specifies, to which cross-section conductor it is provided. The second type of US1-D is designed for terminals made in accordance with DIN norm.
For larger wire cross-sections, the type of crimping type of dies are used US2, US2-D, US3, US3-D. The designation “D” indicates a purpose of crimping die for crimping terminals and cable connectors made according to DIN norm. The first two types work on the section between 25 mm2 to 150 mm2, and second two from 10mm2 to 120 mm2. These matrices cooperate with hand presses: PR 120, PR 120D, PR 150 and PR 150D. US4 crimping dies are designed specifically for aluminum terminals and connectors.
Another crimping die is designed for manual press R 50. In this group we can find the SA type used for copper ring cable lugs without insulation, with a cross section of 10 mm2 to 50 mm2. For insulated terminals the equivalent used is SE. ST crimping dies are designed for cable end-sleeves with or without insulation.
Universally applied SD type of matrices, suitable both for crimping copper and aluminum connectors. SK crimping die is a product dedicated for the connectors being crimped on the aluminum overhead lines that works with the tally PK 95.
Z type crimping dies cooperate with tools based on the latch head. Dies ZA, ZE and ZT are used for copper terminals and ZF dies are designed for forming round form aluminum conductors in cross-sections from 16 to 240 mm2. Type ZS and ZSC, is used for terminals and connectors for both copper and aluminum tubular connectors.
For hydraulic crimping tool HR 100 and hydraulic head GU 120, are intended separate dies, suitable for crimping copper and aluminum terminals. These are matrices: UA, the UE, UT, UF and USM dies.
For crimping tools such as PR 240, HR 300 and GO 300 are dedicated “O” type crimping dies described in the table parameters. A set of dies “O” consists of special OR inserts for crimping aluminum sector wires. It forms a flat wires with cross-sections 25-120mm2.
The die OK, provides possibility for cutting holes in the veins of cables sector, after having reforming “flat” shape, with an insert OR. Using the crimping die Ok it is also possible to cut holes in steel bednarce. The size of the dies can be ordered individually, depending on your needs. Hydraulic head GU 300, has especially designed for it set of dies: UDF, UR, UK and USD.
With very intensive installation works manufacturer proposes hydraulic head GU 625 with its dedicated crimping die of the UX type. It is used for pressing tubular terminals and connectors with outer diameters up to 52 mm. Due to the different wall thicknesses for the ends of the cable diameter, crimping dies are marked with an attribute whose value corresponds to the diameter of the connector in mm.
In the instance of pneumatic heads, the types of crimping die are chosen individually to the type of head, connector and cable cross sections. In order to facilitate selection, please see table on the device.
