Basis for determining kind of voltage is the Regulation of the Minister of Economy and Labour from 20 December 2004 with detailed conditions for connecting objects to the electrical power engineering networks, traffic and maintenance of these networks.
Clarifying existing till todays standards is in the Regulation from 4 May 2007 and includes detailed conditions for functionality of electrical power engineering system. However, in the Polish Standard DIN EN 50160: 1998 “Parameters of supply voltage in public distribution networks” provided names and characteristics of the quality of electricity. In the amended standard PN EN 50160: 1998, quality standard of voltage supply relate to the places of delivery electricity for customers connected to the public power supply networks with voltage: low-nn (up to 1 kV), medium SN (above 1 kV to 36 kV) and WN high (above 36 kV up to 150 kV)
The above mentioned standard specifies the most important characteristics of voltage in the connector of electrical power engineering networks for low and medium voltage under the conditions of work for these networks. Low Voltage included maximum limit up to 1 kV, while the medium voltage is in the range 1kV to 36kV.
An example of electrical power engineering equipment used for the medium voltage are cable connectors and cable terminals crimped:

- -KLN-F copper cable connector up to 36kV in cross section 16 ÷ 625 mm2,

- -KCR-F copper cable connector up to 36kV in cross section to 25 ÷ 625 mm2,
- -KCM-F copper tight cable terminal up to 36kV in cross section 25 ÷ 625 mm2,
- -KLS-F copper cable terminal up to do 36kV in cross section 25 ÷ 300 mm2,
- -KLR-F copper cable connector up to 36kV in cross section 25 ÷ 300 mm2,
- -ALD-S aluminium cable connector up to 10kV in cross section 16 ÷ 625 mm2,
- -ALD-F aluminium cable connector up to 36kV in cross section 16 ÷ 625 mm2,
- -ALR-F aluminium cable connector up to 36kV in cross section 16 ÷ 625 mm2,
- -ALS-F aluminium tight cable connector up to 36kV in cross section 16 ÷ 625 mm2,
- -AS-F aluminium tight cable connector up to 36kV in cross section 25 ÷ 625 mm2,
- -AR-F aluminium cable connector up to 36kV in cross section 25 ÷ 625 mm2,
- -ACK-F aluminium-copper tight cable terminal up to 36kV in cross section 25 ÷ 625 mm2,
- -ACL-F aluminium-copper tight cable connector up to 36kV in cross section 25 ÷ 625 mm2,
