Cable terminals are designed for crimping on multi-strand copper wires. This group of products includes such cable terminals as: ring terminals, spade terminals, pin terminals, cable end-sleeves, tab terminals, claw terminals and tubular terminals. In the manufacturer’s offer there are also crimping tools for crimping precise terminals on wires. Let’s find out more about the cable terminals for Cu wires.
Ring terminals – soldered. The cable is inserted into the tubular part of the terminal and then crimped , and a ring part is screwed with the screw. They are made of galvanically tinned copper. They can be additionally secured with polyamide insulation. KOA ring terminal is made for the wire with the conductor cross-section from 0,1 mm2 to even 120 mm2 and it fulfills the standard of DIN 46234. The smallest sizes are right for the screw size 2, and the biggest sizes are for screw size 16. KOE ring terminal has insulation, as a result it is more thermal resistant to temperatures from -40°C to +125°C. The insulation can be in three colours depending on the size: yellow, red and blue.
Spade terminals – they are perfect for tight places. They are produced with or without insulation. They are intended for the screw of the correct size. An example of a spade terminal is KNA cable terminal, where the soldered tubular part is made according to DIN 46234. The sizes correspond to wire cross-sections from 0,5 mm2 to 10 mm2 and the dimensions of the screws from 3 to 8. KNE spade terminal is available in similar sizes as KNA spade terminal , but it has insulation.
Pin terminals – are available with or without insulation and the edges of folded tubular part are soldered. An example of such a terminal without insulation is KWA that meets the requirements of DIN 46230. The conductor cross-section that it can be crimped on is from 0,5 mm2 to 16 mm2. A pin terminal with insulation is for example KWE made according to DIN 46230 for the wire cross-section from 0,5 mm2 to 16 mm2.
Cable end-sleeve – ensures a safe ending of a multi-strand copper wire. TA cable end-sleeve is made without insulation and according to DIN 46228 part 1. It is made in different sizes from 0,5 mm2 to 185 mm2. An example of a cable end-sleeve with insulation is TE made according DIN 46228 part 4. Depending on the size the insulation can be: grey, light blue, turquoise, white, yellow, blue , red, black, or dark blue. ERKO produces also a double cable end-sleeve namely TV.
