This allows reach protection degree IP 68. What does it mean? IP is a permanent mark in determining protection degree according to DIN 0470 and DIN 40050. First digit in this case 6 defines protection against penetration of solid body and this is the highest scale – it is completely dust-proof. The second digit is 8 and that means degree of protection against water. In this case, eight points means that cable gland protects against long-term water immersion.
