Cable connectors are crimped on wires and they guarantee the safe connection between two wires. The connectors are different and they also have different specifications When the installer has chosen the right connector he needs to apply the right crimping tool. Let’s go through some types of connectors and see what tools are recommended.
KLA cable connectors are produced for multi-stranded copper wires and they are available is sizes corresponding to the cross-section of the wire from 0,5-1 mm2 up to 400 m2. The connector for the smallest cross-section can be crimped with the help of universal press PR 33 or A 11-6, A 22-2. With the cross-section of 10 mm2 it is recommended to use battery powered presses for example: EPZC and GZ 300, HRZ 300 or HR 300. With the biggest cross-section it is recommended to use GU 625 tool.
KLE cable connectors are produced for the multi-stranded copper wires with insulation. They are available is sizes corresponding to the cross-section of the wire from 0,5-1 mm2 to 10 mm2 The connector for the smallest cross-section can be crimped with the help of PR 33, E 11-6 or RE 6. With the cross-section of 10 mm2 it is recommended to use more powerful tools for example battery powered presses or hydraulic presses like HRZ 300.
The reducing connector for the copper multi-stranded wires KLR or KLS is also available in many different sizes corresponding to the cross-section of the wire from 16 mm2 to 300mm2. In this case regardless of size the same crimping tools are recommended for example: EPZC 300, EPZ 300, GZ 300, HRZ 300 or PR 15.
Parallel KLB cable connector are available in 12 sizes . Four smallest sizes can be crimped with the help of such tools as: PR 33, A 1-6, RA 16, PP 8, PP 19. With the cross-section of 10 mm2 it is recommended to use more powerful tools for example battery powered presses or hydraulic presses.
