Hydraulic tools are designed for installation works of an average intensity. They are used for cutting, bending, punching holes and crimping. The work with these tools is more efficient and the worker needs less energy to perform it. There are certain types of work that cannot be done with the help of mechanical tools.
Hydraulic tools – crimping cable terminals and connectors

Hydraulic presses and hydraulic heads are designed for crimping terminals and connectors on electrical wires with the wide cross-section. An example of such a tools is hydraulic hand press HRZ 300. Thanks to the exchangeable dies it can be used for crimping : ring terminals and connectors to 120 m2, cable end-sleeves to 185 mm2, tubular Cu connectors and terminals to 300 mm2 and tubular Al terminals and connectors to 240 mm2. It is comfortable to work with this tool, because of the flip top head rotatable by 180°. Like many other tools of this kind it can be used for round forming of Al sector conductors to 240 mm2. The force is case of this tool is 66,6 kN.
Hydraulic heads are characterized by greater force, because the work with hydraulic units produced by ERKO. Hydraulic head GZ 300 with the lower own weight has the greater force than HRZ 300. For works of high intensity it is recommended to use the hydraulic head GU 625. In case of this tool , the force is 190 kN. It is used for crimping tubular Al and Cu terminals and connectors on wires with the cross-section from 300 mm2 to 625 mm2.
Other hydraulic tools
In the offer of ERKO you can find two hydraulic heads for cutting: GC 50 and GC 100. GC 50 is designed for cutting Al and Cu cables with the outer diameter up to 50 mm. With the help of this tool you can also cut steel reinforced wires, however in this case the outer diameter cannot exceed 30 mm. The force of this tool is 80 kN. Hydraulic head GC 100 is also designed for cutting Al and Cu cables, however the outer diameter is up to 96 mm. Both hydraulic heads are compatible with the electric hydraulic units offered by ERKO for example: pump H 800 or aggregates AH 100, AH 500 and AH 550.
The next action that can be performer with the help of hydraulic tools is punching holes. Hydraulic punching tool WHE 80 with the force of 36,5 kN is designed for punching round, square and rectangular holes in steel sheet metal with the thickness up to 2 mm or in stainless steel with the thickness up to 1,5 mm. Similar parameters you can find in hydraulic punching tools WHP 1 and WH 100.
