Why is it worth using the hydraulic tools?

ERKO offers both hydraulic tools,  and mechanical tools. Which of them  are considered better? Both types of tools are made with utmost care and guarantee comfortable work. However, we should remember that mechanical tools are designed rather for installation works of low intensity in comparison to the hydraulic tools .  In order to perform works of high intensity we choose hydraulic tools.

Hydraulic presses

The most efficient mechanical press allows to crimp tubular terminals and connectors  Al on wires with the maximum cross-section to  240 mm². It should be noted that most of the mechanical crimping tools  are designed for crimping cable terminals on wires with significantly smaller cross-sections. For comparison, the hydraulic head  GU 625  can crimp cable terminals  Cu and  Al on wire with the cross-section from 300 mm² to 625 mm². The difference is significant. The hydraulic head works with hydraulic units produced by ERKO e.g. pump H 800 and aggregates AH 100, AH 500 and  AH 550.

Hydraulic cutting heads

It is also much more efficient and requires less effort to use the hydraulic heads for cutting. In this case, the cable shears, for example RC 100T,  can cut the wires with outer diameter up to  100 mm and the cross-section 2×400 mm². Hand shears are used more often  in case of wires with smaller cross-sections. Hydraulic head  GC 100 can cut wires with outer diameter up to  96 mm.

Punching tools

When cutting  round, square or  rectangular holes we ,in most cases, use hydraulic head rather than manual  hole punching tool. The head works with different types of punches with bigger sizes. For example WHE 80 hydraulic punching tool works with  WO punches from 12,7 -80 mm, WON 12,7 – 32,5 mm, WK 68,5 x 68,5 and  WP.

Busbar processing tools

In case of busbar processing we can only talk about hydraulic tools e.g.. bender-puncher HGD 125, busbar cutter HC 125, axial bender  HSK 5010 or  lateral bender HGP 5010. In most cases we choose to work on busbar processing stations which allow us to perform a complex busbar processing starting from cutting, bending through offsetting and inserting nuts.
