The correct SHARK® connector and crimping die are chosen based on wire cross-section, shape (round or rectangular), and material (copper or aluminum). This ensures proper fit and reliable performance.
Enameled wires are placed inside the connector and compressed using a dedicated ERKO hydraulic or battery-powered press with matched dies. During pressing, the connector’s sharp teeth pierce through the enamel insulation and reach the conductor core.
The enamel remains around the wire except at the contact points, where metal-to-metal bonding is created. This guarantees both electrical conductivity and mechanical strength. The joint is ready for direct installation without additional steps like insulation stripping, soldering, or cleaning.
Complete range of dedicated solutions: SHARK® connectors, battery-powered presses, hydraulic heads, and full workstations – all engineered for precise and repeatable connections.
